No one should have to manage challenges alone. Depression, fear and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions we can experience at some point in our lives. Left untreated, symptoms such as chronic pains, irritability, headaches, and fatigue can occur. Post traumatic events can also lead to lingering symptoms. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are just a few of those emotions that can surface during and after painful and traumatic circumstances.
Failing to identify and manage stressors in your life can lead to more mental, emotional, and physical distress. With a personalized treatment plan for you, I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing as well as recover joy, motivation, and perspective that you once had in your life.
Counseling is also beneficial to couples and family members who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship.
I provide confidential and compassionate counseling for individuals (adults & minors), couples, and family (up to five members).
List of the many types of challenges I specialize in and can help counsel you on:
Practices: Multi-Cultural, Culturally Sensitive, and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT)
CBT is a type of talk therapy (psychotherapy) that guides one to assess their present-day thoughts and behavior to then find new ways to change and eliminate their challenges. Addresses unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to then problem solve and meet goals for improved mental health.
Humanistic Therapy emphasizes and encourages self-actualization and self-mastery so one can make rational decisions and develop the capacity to reach maximum potential (self-fulfillment). Clients develop healthy productive practices to transition away from unhealthy reactive behaviors. The core goal is for the client to see themselves as unique and overcome criticism and disapproval from others in order to lead a fulfilling life.
Practices: Integrative and Eclectic
Contemporary Therapy is a progressive therapy that focuses on the goals the client has for their own values, culture, and community. It uses evidence-based practices that combines several therapy approaches to treat the client’s situation(s). Clients learn to function without constantly pre-forming attitudes, opinions, and expectations.
